what makes us different
Marcela Harper was born and raised in El Salvador, where she is a licensed attorney and notary. She earned her law degree from the University of El Salvador and successfully passed the notary exam, a credential reserved exclusively for attorneys who meet additional qualifications. Marcela also holds a master’s degree in pedagogy and has practiced both family and civil law. Beyond her legal career, she spent five years in missionary service, working with underserved and vulnerable communities throughout El Salvador.
In 2019, she relocated to the United States to pursue advanced legal education and earned her LL.M. in American Legal Studies from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating, she began her immigration law career as a legal assistant for a nonprofit organization serving low-income immigrant families. In 2022, she became licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. Marcela also holds a degree in theology from the Baptist College of Theology in El Salvador. Her deep faith and legal expertise fuel her commitment to compassionate representation, particularly in helping children and youth navigate Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) proceedings.
